Berea Baptist Church is an old fashion, independent Baptist church that firmly believes in the New Testament doctrines of the early church. We are Baptist in our doctrine and resist the modern traditions of denominationalism (Mt. 15:6).
We fellowship with any church of like faith, yet believe formal associations and conventions usurp the authority of the Lord Jesus Christ and the autonomy of the local congregation.
The purpose of our Church is to be a lighthouse to the lost, pointing them to Jesus Christ and a respite to the saved, reaching them with love, providing guidance in the Word of God and fellowship.

Berea Baptist Church began in September 1993 as a mission outreach of Trinity Baptist Temple, 5709 N. Broadway, Knoxville, Tennessee. Pastor Napier, his wife, and three children began holding service in a small storefront on Western Avenue, while he was still serving as Assistant Pastor at Trinity Baptist Temple.
In May 1994, the congregation had grown to become an autonomous, independent Church. God gave us souls for our labors, members increased, and by January 1995 the Church began praying for a building located in our area of service. God provided the means to purchase the building at 704 Washburn Road, Knoxville, Tennessee in May 1995, where it continues to be "a going Church for a coming Lord".
